Charles Michael Taylor, Charlie Taylor Homes, was born July 10, 1959 in Pulaski County, Kentucky and he passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at his residence in Gallatin at the age of 57 – surrounded by his loving family.

Today is Friday. Our readers are likely aware that this is the day we usually feature an outstanding manufactured home retailer from across the nation. Today, we will dedicate our Friday feature to memorialize the passing of one of the truly honorable manufactured home retailers in the country, Charlie Taylor of Charley Taylor Homes in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Charles Michael Taylor was born July 10, 1959 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Charlie passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at his residence in Gallatin at the age of 57, surrounded by his loving family.

Charlie Taylor, of Charlie Taylor’s Homes, will be remembered for his dedicatation and service to the manufactured housing industry.

Charlie Taylor will be sorely missed by all that came into contact with him, including family, friends, business associates, and members of the manufactured housing industry. Charlie loved and was beloved by the scores of customers served by his namesake manufactured home business, Charlie Taylor Homes.

In addition to being known by many as a friend and businessman, he was also a local running legend. The Henderson Running Club was his second family, and he shared many, many miles with them. They were always a great source of encouragement to him during his illness.

Charlie Taylor was loved for his infectious smile, caring heart, laughter, positive outlook, love for family, his faith, loyalty, integrity and incredible perseverance.

Charlie had lived in the Nashville area since 1982 and has owned Charley Taylor Homes since 1987, steadfastly moving forward through both good times and bad times with incredible perseverance and appreciation of his many manufactured home customers spanning nearly 20 years. He will be remembered in Sumner County and throughout Middle Tennessee for his integrity and courtesy.

Charlie Taylor was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church in Madison and leading the kitchen for the Vision ministry. He has passionately supported the church’s mission work all over the world.

Charles Michael Taylor was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Lynn Taylor of Somerset, Kentucky who passed away February 2, 2017.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Grizzard Taylor of Gallatin; two sons, Charles (Sarah) Mikil Taylor, Jr. of Franklin, TN and Matthew Taylor of Nashville; three daughters, Brandi Sandlin of Gallatin, Lauren Taylor of Nashville and Stephanie (Jeremy) Foster of Somerset, KY; parents, Charles Willard and Ruby Jean Pittman Taylor of Somerset, KY, two brothers, James (Shelley) Taylor and Kevin (Alice) Taylor both of Somerset, KY; sister-in-law, Donna Taylor of Somerset, KY; granddaughter, Caroline M. Taylor of Gallatin; four grandsons, Gabriel Sandlin and Joel Nevins both of Gallatin, Peyton and Colton Foster both of Somerset, KY.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Cornerstone Church in Madison, Tenn.  In-lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Cornerstone Youth Department Missions Fund.
