Cavco Has Full Ownership of Fleetwood Homes

Cavco Industries, which bought a portion of Fleetwood Enterprise’s manufactured housing division in a bankruptcy sale after the Riverside, California firm went out of business in 2009, has now acquired full ownership of Fleetwood Homes.

Cavco had owned 50 percent of Fleetwood Homes, and it has purchased the other half that had been held by Third Avenue Value Fund and an affiliate. In a statement released late last week, Joseph Stegmayer, chairman, CEO and president of Cavco, said they have been “fully responsible for operating the Fleetwood Homes business since last August.”

Stegmayer said he was encouraged by improving economic conditions that could make the manufactured housing industry viable again.

Cavco is a leading builder of manufactured and modular homes, park models, and vacation cabins in the United States. Based in Phoenix, arizona, the company has built a reputation for quality, value and service since 1963.
